The Silvery Gibbon Project

gibbon’ s call

The haunting and beautiful call of the female Silvery Gibbon greets the misty dawn of their forest home — a signal to other gibbons that this patch of forest is theirs: the forest they need to survive, to find shelter and to raise their young.

Unlike other gibbon species, the Silvery Gibbon does not sing in duets, the female is the dominant vocalist while the male sings only occasionally.
